After a day of headaches it was nice to fall into this short story It was well written and despite the misunderstandings that happen here, it didn t feel like the author was just doing it to jerk our chains These are some really nice characters and I wouldn t mind reading about them at another time 4.25 stars

3.5 starsThis is quite a lovely sort of friends to lovers story Well, Trent and Callum used to be best friends until eight years ago Callum reacted badly when Trent tried to kiss him for the first time Callum wasn t ready to admit his sexuality and in the end, he broke Trent s heart and their friendship broke when Trent moved to America.I thought the emotions between Trent and Callum when they met again after Trent returned to the small English town and Hummingbird House following his grandmothe [...]

This short work was a lovely, sweet read, and I was able to finish it in an afternoon I really enjoyed it.I like reading stories about realistic, relatable experiences in this case, loss and grief I think this is great because it shows that regardless of who the people in the story are, we can all connect with losing a loved one or making poor choices in our youth Ms Cade reflected the core humanity of the characters very well.I also liked that this wasn t a magically rescue you from your grief [...]

    13. Sadonna says:

This was a bittersweet story of second chances It s also a little bit heartbreaking with the loss of Trent s beloved grandmother as the catalyst for this holiday story She has finally lost her battle with Alzheimer s and Trent has spent the last years caring for her Callum is his dream or is that nightmare that he can t forget He s the boy who didn t want Trent and pushed him away And broke his heart But it turns out things are always as they appear and if Trent can let love and the family that [...]

    14. Jayden Brooks says:

I have so much sweet love for this story It was romantic, and lovely, and heartwarming, and gah, I didn t want it to end Trent comes back to town and finds himself comforted by Callum s family The same Callum who broke his heart years ago I completely adored these characters, even Trent s grandma who tugs your heart from beyond Watching Trent grow and learn to trust in Callum was wonderful Sweet, tender and highly recommended.

    15. blub says:

There was a lot of things I liked I liked seeing the letters Trenton got from his grandmother, her messages to him to live his life, the atmosphere in the village and the characters interaction with the people he grew up around It all made for an enjoyable read The only issues I had with the story mostly my preference here was that I thought the relationship between Trenton and Callum was too easily mended Also Callum just came off as a bit of a overbearing jerk.

    16. Paws says:

Awesome story Man, did I use a lot of tissues.

    17. Lucy says:

I loved callums family and their unwavering affection for both Trenton and Astrid Callum didn t work for me nearly as much It is a sweet second chance holiday story with a little bit of sadness.

Possible Spoilers 2.5 starsI really wanted to love this story but it missed the mark for many reasons I m learning that I really don t care for second chance romances especially when there s a long separation They re like the big misunderstanding romancest very believable IMO If it s the love of your life and you ve thought about that person most every day for eight long years you couldn t have called, wrote, emailed, or at the very least, friended them on Facebook Also, after the guys reconnect [...]

Kenzie Cade is a new author to me I enjoyed this story of second chances, however I do feel it would have benefited from being longer I wanted time with the boys while they reconnected in the first week And I don t know what it was but I felt I needed something extra before they tumbled into bed I guess what I m saying is parts of this story felt rushed. Also I didn t see the point of having the last chapter as an epilogue It took place later on in the same day as the end of the previous chapter [...]

Beautiful, sweet romance nugget Trent is back in EnglaND to claim the house his grandmother left him He dreads running into Callum, a boy he spent summers with when Trent and his grandmother visited Something happened many years ago and Trent is still deeply hurt Told simply but elegantly in flashbacks, we learn snout Callum and trent but importantly we hear about Astrid, trents grandmother A lovely tale of Xmas and familY and recognizing you are not alone with a bit of hotness thrown in Great [...]
